Alba's Story

A one-way ticket to Scotland changed everything... By channelling her innate sense of curiosity and her own adventurous spirit, Alba arrived in Scotland to teach English, and never left. Now she’s the founder of NOORD Candles, and she juggles this creative outlet with her full-time career as a civil engineer. And on a daily basis, she shows that adventure can be found anywhere, and “going with the flow” has its own rewards.

A sustainable style,

Inspired by Scandinavia

Every candle from NOORD is created to mirror how Alba's curiosity guides her. Made from soy wax, her candles are vegan, sustainable and supremely stylish. 
 
But it’s her desire to continuously try something new and seek out new challenges that have inspired her to create candles that feature both sculptural lines and sweeping curves.

Alba created a limited-edition vegan soy wax candle that combined botanicals from Ben Lomond Gin and NOORD’s trademark Scandinavian minimalism style. This exclusive scent fills a room with piney freshness of juniper berries, berry sweetness of Scottish blackcurrants, zesty orange and floral rose. Our partnership allows you to savour the ambiance created by NOORD and those important moments where you could let your mind drift, and plan your next adventure. A 2025 Release now sold out.

Focus on the Journey,

Not the destination

As new pathways presented themselves, every step of Alba’s journey was a step into the unknown. Now she has two very separate careers, but every opportunity is grasped with both hands.

NO-ORDinary G&T

A new classic, this is a G&T with a twist. this cocktail is about trying something new, choosing a different path and finding adventure in the unknown. Spanish Fino Sherry pays homage to Alba’s heritage, which works in perfect combination with our Scottish gin to represent her home in Glasgow. Go on, try it.

Ingredients

35ml Ben Lomond Scottish Gin
20ml Spanish Fino Sherry
10ml Elderflower Liqueur
Sparkling Tonic Water

Method

Add cubed ice to highball, add Ben Lomond Scottish Gin , Sherry and Elderflower Liqueur, stir for 5 secs and add more ice if needed, top with tonic, add a pink grapefruit slice garnish.

Go with the Flow

Inspired by Alba's outlook on life, our 'Go with the Flow' cocktail is a mixture of citrus and sweet flavours, with just that dash of spice.

Ingredients

35ml Ben Lomond Scottish Gin
10ml Rhubarb syrup/liqueur
20ml Lime juice
20ml Pressed apple
Splash of ginger ale
Lime zest

Method

Shake all ingredients, excluding ginger ale, in cocktail shaker with ice for 10 seconds and strain into cocktail glass, crown with ginger ale and add a lime zest garnish.
