Chloe is the mind and hand behind Ben Lomond Gin. With a Masters in Chemical Engineering, her path into distilling was driven as much by curiosity as by chemistry. Early on, she began exploring gin through a diploma with the Edinburgh Whisky Academy and WSET awards, before embarking on her own gin journey and putting theory into practice on a small 80-litre still tucked behind our sister whisky distillery.

Ben Lomond’s original, award-winning recipe remains Chloe’s compass. It’s the reference point she returns to again and again, guiding everything from careful refinement to ongoing experimentation. Whether working at the still or in her gin lab, Chloe’s approach blends technical precision with instinct and creativity. From there, she develops new expressions and innovations that venture outward, always anchored to the bold, balanced, and versatile character that defines Ben Lomond Gin at its core.

Elsie’s palate and perspective have been trusted as a spirits judge at leading spirits awards for several years, alongside regular drinks contributions to publications including The Sunday Times, The Herald, and The Scotsman. Guided by a desire to look around, stay curious, and explore paths less trodden, she helps demystify gin for a wider audience - encouraging drinkers to embrace their adventurous spirit and enjoy gin however, or wherever, they choose.
