Successful entrants will be contacted and invited to the competition final at Luss Distillery on 3 November 2026, where finalists will bring their creations to life.

Enter the Competition

  1. Competition entries open Monday 14th September 2026.
  2. Competition entries close Monday 12th October 2026.
  3. Entrants must be aged 18 or over.
  4. Entrants must reside in the UK.
  5. Entrants should not work for or be associated with other spirits brands.
  6. Entrants should not be employees, agents, suppliers or immediate family members of Ben Lomond Gin or Loch Lomond Group Ltd.
  7. Must use core Ben Lomond ‘Original’ London Dry Gin as the base core spirit.
  8. Only one entry per person is permitted.
  9. Only one homemade ingredient is permitted – homemade ingredients refers to any addition to your serve which cannot be purchased and must be created by hand. Please be mindful of using allergens.
  10. Pair your creation with a name and a brief story that’s meaningful to you or resonates with St Andrews and the surrounding areas. Draw inspiration from scenery, community, or simply how your serve makes you feel.
  11. While we are happy to receive all recipes, we encourage entrants to create a long serve.
  12. Your creation should be easy to pre-batch or assemble on-site at The Open, ensuring it can be crafted efficiently at scale without compromising quality. Bold flavours are encouraged, but keep practicality in mind for the bustling environments of at-event spectator villages.
  13. Serves will be assessed based on taste, name, story and scalability.
  14. Finalists will be contacted by Ben Lomond Gin marketing team via email within 7 days of entries closing.
  15. Finalists must be present at the Final at Luss Distillery on 3rd November 2026 in order to compete.
  16. Return travel from central Scotland to the Final at Luss will be provided.
  17. Overall winner will be announced at the Final.
  18. Winner must allow name, story and photography to be published.

Prize

£1000 cash, BLG hamper, 2 x VIP hospitality tickets for The 155th Open. Travel to The Open is only provided for winner and guest if located out-with St Andrews area. Accommodation not included.

No prize substitution available. Prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be provided if winner cannot utilise tickets to The Open.
